Terry & Erika: Black Hills Wedding Photographer

Erika and Terry, I’m so glad I was able to be a part of your wedding day! It was perfection. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for having me. Enjoy a few of my favorites! —js

What was the most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Erika Says: The most memorable moment from our wedding day was probably the moment prior to walking down the aisle. I was very nervous all day that I was going to be crying and miss all of the little details of seeing Terrance for the first time that day. As we waited for the bridal party to walk ahead of us, I felt a tangible sense of calm fall over myself where I had no doubt in my mind that today was going to be the best day, and that Terrance was truly the only person I could ever want to see at the end of the aisle. After that moment, I had no need for tears or stress, just Love!

Terry Says: The most memorable moment from our wedding day for me was seeing Erika walk down the aisle. It was a struggle to avoid seeing her in her dress throughout the day as the campground was a small area and there were several times when I walked by the cabin she was getting ready in. It was definitely worth it though—she looked beautiful and every other thought left my mind.

Jessica’s Take: I remember just before Terry and Erika entered their reception, they looked at one another and each of their faces broke into the most genuine smile. Such a sweet moment.

What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?

Erika Says: My favorite detail of the wedding was all of the clothing. I loved my dress to pieces! I also loved how nicely Terrance’s, the brides maids’, and the groomsmen’s outfits came together! This was the first time I had seen all of the details combined into one and I absolutely loved it!

Terry Says: My favorite detail of the wedding was the location of the ceremony. Having a wedding outside is a risk as the weather is not under anyone’s control, but it paid off in a big way as I felt connected to the beauty of the Black Hills and it made our day that much more special.

Jessica’s Take: I loved the sleeves and style of Erika’s dress (so lovely!) and the bowties that the guys wore. I also loved the pale pink roses among the reception decor.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

Erika Says: My greatest advice for other couples planning a wedding is to never underestimate or forget your abilities to be creative, laugh, and dance when things get too stressful! Find those friends and family that mean the world to you and this can truly be an enjoyable process!

Terry Says: My advice would be to not sweat the small stuff. There are so many details that go into a wedding, but it’s important to remember why you are marrying that person. It’s easy to forget the feelings you had when you first proposed, to lose that initial excitement and get stressed out or frustrated if you disagree. Remember you are committing to more than just your wedding day, and the love you share will make your day more beautiful than any details could.

What’s the best part about being married so far?

Erika Says: The best part about being married so far is getting to spend all of my time with an amazing guy that will let me have crazy ideas and help me succeed even when I fail at first! Plus, having a little extra help with the laundry and the dishes isn’t too bad either!

Terry Says: The best part for me is having someone to share life’s many decisions and troubles with. No matter what, your spouse is there for you with love and support through everything.
