A couple of weeks ago, I sat by the fireplace in our first home. I watched my husband from across the room. I smiled at the puppy asleep in my lap. It was the first day of spring and my heart was happy. I couldn’t believe all of the good that God has given to us.
Yes, you read that right—a puppy in my lap. I’ve waited years (six to be exact) for a puppy in my lap, and now, in a matter of days, I’ve turned into a crazy person. You know the kind. I snap endless photos on my phone. I’m the girl that can’t stop buying dog treats, when what we really need are human groceries. My conversations with my sweet mother have been reduced to me going on and on about this darling that I’ve only known for three weeks. (Sidenote: Mama, if you’re reading this, know that I don’t even know I’m rambling until after we hang up. Please stop me. Or, come over and see my dog! Have I told you about her!?)
