If you know my friend, Laura, you likely adore her.
A few spring seasons ago, when her first baby was a toddler and Laura was expecting her second, I asked her to model for me. I’d recently purchased a film camera, and wanted to try it out in a not-wedding scenario—where I could fumble and take my time, learn, and practice with the hope that something would turn out. When I got my scans back, I couldn’t believe how happy I was with the photographs from those two rolls of film. There’s just something about it that I can’t replicate in my digital work, and that sweet session was really encouraging to me in my pursuit of working with families.
Here’s a few favorites of Laura and her little ones from last year’s motherhood session—the third spring we’ve created these together. Laura, I love this tradition, and I can’t wait to work with you again in May!

These are beautiful, friend!
