Aaron & Lisa: Black Hills Engagement Photographer

I absolutely fell in love with Lisa and Aaron when we first met, and couldn’t have been more excited to take their engagement photos. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule twice: the first time for my husband’s surgery, and the second time because it was much too cold. But let me just tell you, having amazing weather and getting to know this couple was worth the wait!

Aaron and Lisa like to spend their time together hiking and biking and generally-being in the great outdoors. It was only fitting that they chose Mystic, South Dakota for their engagement photos, where they feel quite at home. We walked the Mickelson Trail and stopped by a little old church, where a sweet lady invited us inside.

Aaron and Lisa, thank you so much for being up for a walk. To say the least, it was a good day. Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Lisa, what is your favorite thing about Aaron?
There are so many things I love about Aaron. His smile and laugh. His ability to focus on what’s truly important in life and the way he cares for his family and friends. He is very intelligent and is always sharing fun facts with me. I also love the little things he does for me, especially the sticky notes I find on the mornings he has left for work telling me how much he loves me.

You knew you’d marry him when…
We’ve dated for six years. From the beginning, I knew that we had something special and each year our love grows stronger. He spends many days each week out of town and when the morning comes for him to leave, my heart aches. He truly is my best friend and there isn’t anyone else I can think of that I’d rather spend my time with.

Aaron, what’s your favorites thing about Lisa…
I can’t say I have one favorite thing about Lisa. Her and I have always viewed and enjoyed life in the same way since we first met. If its hiking outside in the summer or just sitting by the fireplace in the winter, we always enjoy each others company. She’s always there for family and friends. She brings peace and happiness into my life everyday whether I’m home, or a thousand miles away at work through the phone. She’s always there, bringing the best out of me one way or another.

You knew I’d marry her when…
Being together for six years I don’t have a specific moment I knew when I wanted to marry Lisa. It’s been the accumulation of everything we’ve done and accomplished together. Waking up in the morning thinking about what she’s doing that day. Always knowing she’s there for me no matter what happens and wanting to be there for her. It’s all these things and many more that when they all came together, I knew I had true love and wanted to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
