Austin & Anne: Spearfish Engagement Photographer

A few weeks ago I met up with Austin and Anne for a quick engagement shoot.  They’d already had engagement photos taken by a friend, so I promised it could be short and sweet—just for wedding day practice.  After the first 5 minutes, I was trying to think of ways to make it not short at all.  They’re fun. And laid-back. And pretty darn cute. So very excited for their upcoming fall wedding!

Austin and Anne, thank you for taking time for a few engagement photos. I hope you like my favorites!

Anne, what’s your favorite thing about Austin?
Gosh… where does a girl begin? If I had to choose only one favorite, I would choose one that truly encompasses everything and that would be Austin’s heart. He is truly one of the most compassionate, caring people I have ever met.

You knew you’d marry him when…
At the conclusion of our very first date. After a night of chatting and laughing together, I recall thinking that I could actually have it all and it was the most wonderful feeling I have ever felt! Other than when he asked me to marry him of course.

Austin, what’s your favorite thing about Anne?
I don’t know where to begin. I suppose that since we are getting married that a long list of favorite things is expected. Initially, on our first date, I loved her smile. I have been told by many people that her smile is magnificent, especially from my grandma Doris, who has been a huge fan of Anne since day 1. Another ‘favorite’ thing of mine about Anne is her sense of humor. Her ability to break out in improvised song and dance is uncanny. Everything can be turned into a song, which can usually be assisted by a choreographed dance. As you can imagine, most of these songs are quite entertaining and can sometimes ‘stick’ in my brain for extended periods of time. Lastly, and while most would assume this to be a no-brainer, I love her overall personality. She’s funny, passionate, dedicated, smart, and likes the outdoors…all of which are attributes that I love. Oh yeah, she’s also the most beautiful woman that I know. That’s a huge plus.

You knew you’d marry her when….
I knew I wanted marry Anne about 8 months after we started dating. While it took me much longer to make it official, I had made up mind long before our engagement date. During the first eight months of dating, my admiration and love grew exponentially. The more I got to know her, the more my love for her grew. Considering we are now into our fourth year of being together, that love has risen to a point that I know would be unattainable with any other person. She’s perfect for me.
