Mr. & Mrs. Maningas, thank you so very much for inviting me to be part of your day. I cannot tell you how honored I felt to be there with you as you began your life together as husband and wife. Enjoy a few of my favorites!
From the Happy Couple….
1. What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Lori: “Calen’s face when I walked down the isle. Even though we had done a first look, it was like he was seeing me for the first time. The mixture of crying, smiling and laughter on his face gave me the best feeling ever.”
Calen: “Everything was so memorable. I remember there was a slight breeze blowing the flowers and ribbons decorating the aisle and at very end of the aisle I saw Lori. She was gorgeous and before she even stared walking I was in tears. I also remember feeling so loved by all our family and friends who not only put endless hours of work into our wedding but help grow us as a couple from the beginning.”
Jessica’s take: I loved your ceremony! It took everything I had not to take a seat and listen to every word. It was heartfelt and genuine, scattered with joyful moments and filled to the brim with love for family, God, and for one another. The perfect message to begin your happy marriage. And I loved the way the two of you looked at each other all day long. 🙂
2. What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?
Lori: “It was all a fairytale and I had so many favorite things, the cake table being high on the list. The twinkle lights might be what made it all so magical though. Driving away that night and looking back at the tent and everything lit up was just beautiful!”
Calen: “The cake table was pretty amazing. I love the way everything came together as a whole. From the bunches of poof balls to all the lights in the tent and trees. I know this isn’t a detail but I also loved having our awesome photographer (whose blog this is posted to). Thank you so much for all your time and for being so great to work with. We wanted memorable pictures and you really provided that for us.” (You guys are the best. THANK YOU! — js)
Jessica’s take: I couldn’t get enough of Lori’s dress!!!
3. Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?
Lori: “Don’t let the stress of wedding planning take your focus off the union of marriage. We had a beautiful wedding and it was a lot of hard work but I think what kept us sane was knowing that at the end of the day we would be married and that was all that mattered.”
Calen: “The best was the open conversation with my beautiful bride. From the beginning we really made the choice that planning for the wedding was important but not as important as being married at the end of the day. Parts of planning were stressful but no matter if plans came together or not, all that mattered was being married to Lori.”
4. What’s the best part of being married so far?
Lori: “The best part is not having to say goodbye to Calen at night and drive home because I’m already home. It’s so exciting to go to sleep and wake up with your best friend.”
Calen: “EVERYTHING! Being able to come home to my bride is amazing. I’m so excited to share life with her daily. I love setting up our house together and day dreaming about all our future plans of a long happy life together.”
