Ryan & Summer: Black Hills Wedding Photographer

When Summer first emailed me, she said wanted their wedding to be rustic and elegant. What she forgot to mention, was that they planned on having a really, really good time.

For Summer and Ryan, their wedding at Terry Peak Chalets was a destination event, and I had only met them briefly before the wedding. When I left their reception after spending the day with them, there was no doubt that their wedding day was perfectly them. It was, after all, rustic and elegant, but so much more on top of those things. It was friendly and cheerful and deeply personal. It was thoughtful but lighthearted. Tender and hilarious. It was, for many, a labor of love.  And I was so pleased to be a part of it.

Ryan and Summer, how did I get so lucky to have found you? It’s almost like our canoe’s bumped into each other at Bible camp. 🙂 Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day, and for being so perfectly thoughtful and lighthearted and hilarious.  Enjoy a few of my favorites.

A gift from Ryan’s wife-to-be.

I love it when grooms opt for a classic suit. Ryan’s was grey, tailored, and completely handsome. Summer’s dress was swoon-worthy too, and was equal parts timeless and modern, with fun details like pockets and removable skirt.

Goodness. So so beautiful.

Summer chose mismatched china to have at every place setting.

This pretty wedding guest and I shared the same affinity for the dessert table. This may or may not have been her third cupcake, and I may or may not have overdone it on the photographs.

You know you twist so fine (twist so fine)….
