Remember these guys? When Megan emailed wanting summery photographs of her family to mark Nora’s first birthday, I couldn’t have been more excited. After talking through some ideas, we decided on a picnic in the park.
The thing I loved most about this shoot—other than when Greta completely melted my heart by holding my hand—was the fact that it was a real picnic. They brought things that were theirs, and that their daughters loved at this time in their lives. They packed a wagon with Megan’s go-to quilt, their family’s picnic basket, sandwiches, sippy cups, and strawberries. They read books and were entertained by girls’ prop of choice—the bubble machine. I love that someday Greta and Nora will look at these photos and remember that quilt. Their wagon. And how much they adored that bubble machine.
Mike and Megan, thank you so much for inviting me to your picnic, for the really good sandwich, and for the chance to see your girls again. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites!
