On their wedding day, back in October, it rained. And it wasn’t a light-and-misty-so-we-could-stand-out-there-for-a-minute kind of rain. It poured rain. All. Day. Long.
Everything was cold and soaking wet, except for spirits. The wedding was beautiful, and the party was perfect. It was a wonderful day, including all of that rain. But I wanted these two to have the best of what I could give them. So, on a very different kind of day, Dustin and Tyffany met me again for photos. And romance. And laughing. All of which took place outdoors, in my favorite kind of light.
Although the majority of the photos were taken with my digital equipment, I knew I wanted to shoot a roll of film as well. I’m so thankful that they were up for being part of this personal project. The results are soft and romantic, and slightly imperfect—which to me feels human and heartfelt and handmade.
Dustin and Tyffany, I can’t even begin to tell you how blessed I am to call you friends. Thank you, thank you, for letting me document this sweet time in your life together. I hope you enjoy a few of my (film) favorites.
