It’s scary learning something new. And intimidating sharing it with the internet—people you know and don’t know, to critique and judge and wonder why you’d even bother.
But I’m bothering.
I want to learn to shoot film, and to learn it well enough to perhaps someday make it a small part of weddings and portraits and life. Digital photographs are wonderful. Convenient. Sharp. Vibrant. And sometimes just a little too perfect. I want grain. I like soft. I want that moment I saw in black and white to come back to me as it was—in black and white. And on paper.
I know that this will come slowly, but I also know that it will improve my photography overall. And getting better is what it’s all about.
