Motherhood, Newborn & Family Portraiture

January 15, 2011

January just doesn’t do it for me.

As you’re all well aware, Christmas is long gone. New Year’s Day is over. And it’s cold. Like, long underwear cold. Every year around this time I seem to end up in a rut. By the time March rolls around, I will try to convince you that spring doesn’t even exist, and I will shamelessly threaten a move to Fiji.

Although I haven’t said it out loud yet, one of my goals for the year is to take more pictures just for the sake of being creative. I don’t do this as much as I should, and believe it to be important for growth as an artist. Even more importantly, it will help me avoid the above said rut altogether, and move us right along into spring.

I’ll be out of town most of the week, so please forgive me if I’m a little slow getting back to those of you who call or email. I’m looking forward to a newborn session this weekend, as well as some traveling with my husband.

And here, is photo number one. See you later, winter blues.
