Kyle & Cynthia: Rapid City Wedding Photography

Kyle and Cynthia, I loved this day. Thank you for staying true to yourselves, despite the loud voices of “supposed to do’s” that you may have heard throughout this process. The simplicity of your vision, your love for each other, and your longing to spend quality time with those closest to you is clear. I am so happy for you as you begin this adventure as a family.  Thank you, a thousand times over, for inviting me to be a part of it. —js

What was the most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Cynthia Says: The most memorable moment came at the end of the most wonderful whirlwind of a day. When our party dwindled to a handful of people just after midnight and the long day finally started to quiet down, Kyle and I danced to our longtime favorite song “Samba Pa Ti”. Then, moments later, he was able to feel our baby move for the very first time. It was magic.

Kyle Says: The moment Cynthia and I stood in front of our fireplace with our dearest family and friends huddled around while we exchanged written vows I knew I would never forget how lucky I am.  To have my best friend standing in front of me, with so much love surrounding us, is truly a blessing.  That was an amazing moment I will never forget.

Jessica’s Take: The earliest portion of the day that I got to take part in, which was Cynthia and Kyle preparing for the ceremony, seemed extra special to me. Like the rest of their day, it was elegant and simple in all the best ways.

What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?

Cynthia Says: We focused very little on décor and details, so it is somewhat ironic that I feel I could go on and on about my favorite pieces of the day. For instance, I loved that my mom and her sister wore such beautiful hanboks (traditional Korean dresses) for the ceremony. I loved the extremely kind words from the officiant, our great friend, and from all of our family and friends over the course of the night. I loved how, for two days straight, the rain stopped just long enough to enjoy whatever next event we had planned. But more than anything, my favorite detail was each and every person who joined us that day, the people who have known us, supported us, and loved us over the years. I loved looking around us at any given moment and seeing their faces. The day would not have been the same without them.

Kyle Says: The simplicity of our wedding day was my favorite detail.

Jessica’s Take: I loved Toby and his bow tie, the atmosphere at dinner (where the bride and groom made sure everyone felt comfortable taking their time), and Cynthia’s gorgeous navy lace dress.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

Cynthia Says: Make every decision unequivocally yours.

Kyle Says: Do what makes you feel good. It worked for us.

What’s the best part about being married so far?

Cynthia Says: The best part is that it feels the same as it always has.

Kyle Says: It feels just like the last 11.5 years.
