Travis & Courtney: Rapid City Wedding Photographer

Courtney and Travis, the two of you (and your families!) were amazing to work with. I can’t help but smile when I think back to your wedding day, and hope it was everything you dreamed it would be. Thanks for going with the flow, for believing with me that it wouldn’t rain (we were right!), and for laughing with me as I serenaded your ring bearer. Enjoy a few of my favorites! —js

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Courtney Says: For me it was secretly meeting up with Travis that morning to exchange our wedding gifts. Seeing him and spending some time together really crushed any anxiety I had going into our big day and helped me put everything in perspective.

Travis Says: The most memorable part of the wedding day would have to be watching Courtney coming down the aisle with a big smile on her face.

Jessica’s Take: I loved the ceremony exit. I think the newlyweds had more birdseed thrown at them than they bargained for, but their smiles were completely genuine and contagious. And I really like that.

What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?

Courtney Says: It is extremely difficult to pick just one detail of our wedding day. I can narrow it down to three though. The first being my dress. It was everything that I had hoped and dreamed it would be. The second was my pearls. Travis gave them to me as a gift last year which made them very special. When I put my pearls on with my dress I truly felt like a beautiful bride. My third favorite detail was the paper flowers we used in our centerpieces. They took a lot of time and patience to make, but we were really happy with the way they turned out.

Travis Says: My favorite detail about the wedding would have to be the guys’ pocket squares.

Jessica’s Take: I would agree with Courtney on all of the above. Her dress was as classic as they come—she’s going to love it forever. And after taking their engagement photos at the bookstore, I couldn’t help but fall in love with their book-page flowers.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

Courtney Says: Stay as organized as possible during the planning process. Make sure everything is in order and everyone knows what their responsibilities are before the big day. Then on your wedding day trust that you did everything you could and that everything will work out for the best. Don’t sweat the small stuff…and don’t even sweat the big stuff. Just remember the big picture, and if you walk out of that ceremony a married man or woman then everything went perfectly.

Travis Says: Once you decide on something , don’t change your mind a bunch of times.

What’s the best part of being married so far?

Courtney Says: The best part of being married is knowing that I will always have someone there to support and encourage me. I don’t have to navigate this world by myself anymore. I’ll always have my partner right there beside me.

Travis Says: The best part of being married so far is knowing that I am going to be spending the rest of my life with my best friend.

Lovely portraits!! Your favorite is my favorite, too (go figure) but I *LOVE* that ring shot – and also the perfume photo with the pearls. 🙂
