Kaitlynn: Black Hills Senior Photographer

It’s official.  I’ve turned into one of those ladies that say, “I knew you when you were only this big.”

I may not have said that verbatim, but it’s what I was thinking last week as Kaitlynn stepped into the passenger seat. When my family first moved to South Dakota, little Kaitlynn was our neighbor, and I sometimes babysat her and her younger brother. I’m not sure where those 11 years (!) have gone, but here she is—intelligent, kind and lovely. And grown.

We started her session with a thrilling 15 minute wait in road construction, which eventually led to Horsethief Lake. Kaitlynn was a stunning addition to the greens and blues of the water and trees. We ended up at the high school theatre, where Kaitlynn is involved in band and drama. She wanted to include those things in a few of her photos, along with her love affair with red Mary Janes. She’s been sporting them since she was a kid, so it was only appropriate.

Kaitlynn, thank you so much for asking me to take your senior pictures! I had a wonderful time, and couldn’t have asked for a better model. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites, and the beginning of your senior year!
