Justin & Kristin: Rapid City Wedding Photography

Justin and Kristin, your wedding day was incredible in so many ways. Your love for one another and for your guests was at the center of everything, and I feel incredibly blessed that you asked me to be a small part of it. Thank you for that. Enjoy a few of my favorites! —js

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Kristin Says: Well, I have a few of them!… but I think for me the most memorable parts of the day were my mom giving me my grandma’s wedding ring, seeing my dad for the first time and then, of course, seeing Justin for the first time.

Justin Says: Hands down, the first time I saw Kristin in her dress. I know for a fact that is the first time in our little history together that I have ever been speechless.  :0)

Jessica’s Take: When I was setting up Justin for the first look, I asked him how he was feeling. He replied, “I’ve never wanted something more than I want today.”

What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?

Kristin Says: My favorite detail would, without a doubt, have to be the flowers. The fact my parents grew all the sunflowers there is such an amazing thing to remember, cherish, and now that its’ all over, kind of realize. Their backyard had so many sunflowers it was truly a sight to see. I, too, have to mention Mike Malone as being one of my favorite details because he did a fantastic job at making our reception as fun as we wanted it to be!

Justin Says: My happiness spun me so fast I couldn’t focus on one. Loved every part it!

Jessica’s Take: I loved Kristin’s whole bridal “look”—the dress, her hair, her makeup. It was very soft, feminine, and classic.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

Kristin Says: Oh, wow…I feel like I have a lot of advice. For starters, never under estimate the power of having and asking for help. People genuinely want to help and our wedding would not have been NEAR as beautiful without all the help we received.  Next, as cliché as it sounds, the day truthfully goes by faster than you can ever imagine. I advise that the bride and groom strive to take in every moment as it passes. Also, remember to have fun because once the big day hits there aren’t many things that can change, be replaced and/or found (which Justin will elaborate on a little bit)! Lastly, I knew since the proposal that the main event truly happens at the ceremony, but was always so worried about how the reception looked. While I thought our reception was BEAUTIFUL, I got the impression that everyone there sincerely only cared about Justin and I becoming one and our overall happiness; which is all we could ever ask for. Long story short I suppose, try not to sweat the small stuff; which I realize is much easier said than done. I also have to give kudos to those who plan a wedding over a short time span. We were engaged a little over a year and there wasn’t much time I feel like could have been spared in the planning process. I wish good luck and years of happiness and love to all those planning a wedding!

Justin Says: Boys, remember the marriage license!

What’s the best part of being married so far?

Kristin Says: I absolutely love being able to say that Justin is my husband. I find myself saying it whenever possible. Something very different happens emotionally and mentally once you’re married that’s a little hard to explain. There’s this indescribable feeling about being married that gives me the “warm fuzzies” and I absolutely love it. I know we’re still in the honeymoon period, but I have a strong feeling we’ll be staying in it a long while.

Justin Says: Getting to call Kristin my “Wife”!

These are all so great! I knew they would be (because you’re awesome), but the way they look at each other is just the sweetest!
