Before winter decided to stay, I met up with Courtney and Travis for their engagement session. Courtney is a book lover, and couldn’t think of a better place than Mitzy’s Bookstore at Main Street Square to begin their session. I was delighted with her idea, as it’s always fun when couples incorporate a piece of themselves into their engagement photos.
Travis and Courtney, thanks for the lovely walk around town and for being such a joy to photograph. Your June wedding will be here before we know it, and I can’t wait to be a part of it. Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Courtney, what’s your favorite thing about Travis?
I have tons of things I love about Travis, but one of the things I love most is his laid back personality. He balances me perfectly. While I worry about all of the small meaningless details in life he is there to remind me that there are more important things. He reminds me to take joy in the simple things and appreciate everything life has to offer.
You knew you’d marry him when…
When we first started dating I used to grab Travis’ face between my hands, look him in the eyes, and say “you know I really like this face.” It became a bit of an inside joke with us over time. So it was not out of the ordinary when I did it one evening. What was out of the ordinary was when he grabbed my face in return and said “you know I really love this face.” That was the first and last “I love you” that I ever needed to hear.
Travis, what’s your favorite thing about Courtney?
My favorite thing about Courtney is that she accepts me for who I am. She doesn’t try to change me but rather embraces everything about me and loves me for me. I don’t feel like I need to try to impress her, but at the same time she inspires me to be the best that I can.
You knew you’d marry her when…
I cannot recall one exact instant in which I knew I was going to marry her. I don’t think it can be narrowed down. I only know that I have never been happier than when she is by my side, and that is how I know I want to be with her for the rest of my life.
