Mike & Abby: Rapid City Wedding Photgrapher

Mike and Abby, thank you for asking me to be a part of your wedding day. I know you didn’t ask for rain, or for giant hail, but your positive outlook made me wonder if it was part of your plan all along. I adored working with you, and wish you all the happiness that love and marriage can bring. Enjoy a few of my favorites from your wedding day!

From the Bride & Groom….

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

A: Oh my goodness…what wasn’t? It felt perfect in every way, down to the rain. However, I think maybe the ceremony being so incredibly personalized and emotional, with our professor speaking and the surprise of being surrounded by everyone we loved at the end. And then seeing literally EVERYBODY on the dance floor…people from age 3 to 80 were out there all night! Hardly anyone sat down. (Sorry…was that too much? 🙂

M: Running downhill with Abby trying to get inside before being struck by quarter sized hail was memorable. As far as the ceremony, the very end when we all stood in a circle was both a surprise and rather memorable, too.

Jessica’s Take: I loved the entire ceremony, which ranked as one of the most personal I’ve ever attended. It lasted longer than Mike & Abby expected, but it was worth every minute. Not only was the weather perfect by then, but the music, the reading by the bridal party, the messages given, and the prayer at the end were all really touching.

What was your favorite detail of the wedding day?

A: Favorite detail was our first dance. Mike whispered to me, “Everyone’s screaming for us so loud!” They were so surprised that Mike could Tango!

M: The Rocky theme song as we exited and the first dance were my favorite details.

Jessica’s Take: I loved the flowers and the boutonnieres. And I would agree with the bride and groom—that Tango was pretty awesome.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

A: I know you’ve probably heard it a thousand times, but RELAX! All the stress isn’t worth it. People will come through for you…just enjoy it and make sure you pick the right wedding party to help you.

M: You should try to get as much done as you can as early as you can. That way you are not scrambling (as much) the last week or two before the wedding.

What’s the best part of being married so far?

A: Our honeymoon was amazing. We went to Grand Teton National Park, which is the place we were when we finally started dating. It feels like everything has come full circle, and it is so fun to be able to say, “husband”…I feel like it should be accompanied by trumpets blowing every time!

M: The Honeymoon was awesome.
