Zach & Shanna: Rapid City Wedding Photographer

I asked him how he was feeling. “Nervous,” was the answer.

He questioned a first look, wondering why he couldn’t just see her now. I think he was secretly wishing he could “accidentally” bump into Shanna in the hallway of her parents’ home,  knowing that if he could just talk to her, hug her, his nerves would melt away. I explained how good the moment would be if he waited, and even though he didn’t really have another option, he complied.

With eyes tightly closed, Zach waited for Shanna (who—can I just say?—made a stunning bride) to cross the yard and tap him on the shoulder. At the sight of her dressed in lace, his face gave way to a smile that said more than anything he could have spoken. They were standing together on their wedding day, and the nerves had been replaced with happiness—just like he knew they would.

Shanna and Zach, I feel so blessed to have been invited to photograph your wedding. Thank you. I hope your day was everything you wanted it to be—plus a little more. Enjoy a few of my favorites.

I overheard Zach tell Shanna that her dress was waaay better than the ones on t.v.  He must be a victim of Say Yes to the Dress.

The above right photo was taken just before the ceremony got started, at Shanna’s parents’ home. I thought she looked too beautiful not to include it.

She and her family worked so hard making the ceremony site perfect. I loved the arbors that her brothers made, and couldn’t help but get caught up in the moment when the curtains were let out for she and her dad’s walk down the aisle.

That’s one proud groom.
